Small feature, but one we'd wanted for a while: if you leave an email address when you file a report on SolveHFX, you'll now get an email automatically whenever that report's status changes — moved to "in progress," marked "resolved," or given a note explaining what happened.
Why this matters
Most reports on SolveHFX are filed anonymously, which is exactly how it should work for residents who just want to flag a pothole and move on. But if you *do* leave an email — because you want to know what happens next — you deserve to actually hear back, instead of having to remember to revisit your tracking page every few days.
Before this, that contact email sat in our database and did... nothing. Now it does the one thing it was there for.
How it works
1. When you file a report, add your email in the contact step (still fully optional).
2. When the status changes — or a resolution note gets added — you get a short email with the update and a link back to your report's tracking page.
3. If you never left an email, nothing changes for you. Anonymous reports stay anonymous, and no notification is sent because there's nowhere to send it.
